About Iowa Advocates
Formed in mid-2007, the Iowa Advocates for Choice in Education is dedicated to expanding educational options to all Iowa families. We are a 501(c)(4) lobbying organization. Through our activities at the Capitol in Des Moines and across the state, we work to advance school choice in Iowa. We believe that all parents should be able to choose the school that best meets their child’s needs, regardless of their family’s income or neighborhood. Our members worked to support the passage of the Educational Opportunities Act in 2006 and its expansions in 2007 and 2013, and we continue to work for further expansion of that legislation and for additional programs that will extend school choice to more Iowa families.
Iowa Advocates for Choice in Education represents school choice supporters and the nonpublic school community in Iowa. We are a bipartisan organization whose varied Board represents different political parties, faiths and communities around the state. We are united in the belief that all parents should have the ability to choose where their child attends school, without limitations. Iowa Advocates for Choice in Education works for legislation that removes economic barriers to choice and extends school choice to those who were previously without options in education.
